Kirsty and her Anywhere in Africa Safaris organized the most memorable trip for our family as we celebrated a birthday.

We started in South Africa staying at a couple of different safari lodges followed by some relaxation in Mozambique. The whole trip was tailored to our needs with as many consultations as we liked prior to departure and no stone was left unturned.

The attention to detail was first class; the WhatsApp group for continual contact during our stay, the transfers between each flight at each airport, the private road transfers, the pre-warning of allergies to each lodge we stayed at, even last-minute changes….the list is endless, but this is what made the trip so effortless.

Thanks to Kirsty Gordon we had an amazing adventure in September, 2024. Based on a recommendation from a friend, we worked with Kirsty to plan a multi-country trip. Over the course of multiple video conferences, Kirsty listened to our ideas and presented multiple scenarios for us to consider.

She planned out every detail of our trip, leaving nothing to chance, including flights, lodging, tours and transfers.

One of our highlights was gorilla trekking in Rwanda. It was a mind-blowing experience. The two Tanzanian safaris were fabulous. We concluded our trip in beautiful Cape Town, which for us was an experience not to be missed. The guides working with Kirsty were great. Kenya (August 2024)

Kirsty Gordon and the Anywhere in Africa team made our trip better than we could have possibly imagined. She was spot-on in our accommodations and the suggestions on activities. She gave guidance on everything from local customs & tipping to packing.

I knew our family of 8 is not accustomed to "roughing it" and would prefer our usual creature comforts. But I honestly did not know accommodations this nice were available on safari. We stayed in Kenya. The people were incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming. The only thing we didn't do well was bring more warm layers for the time of year (late July to early August). But the guides all had blankets in their vehicles and the "camps" even did our laundry. I had just underestimated the amount of time we would be outdoors in the early morning and evenings (the elevation is surprisingly high in many places).

Kirsty gave us information on a hot air balloon ride/safari. We were not going to do it at first (I hate flying), but it was fantastic! So smooth and peaceful...with wonderful views. It was worth the early morning wake-up. The drive to our balloon in the dark also turned into a game drive. We saw animals in the dark that we did not see elsewhere. We stayed in 2 different places for game drives which gave us 2 different experiences. We loved them both. Certainly, seeing the great migration was amazing. The amount of life that follows that migration is really more incredible. And the locations where we stayed were convenient and felt private. We were not overrun with other tourists. I could definitely go on and on about the trip and Kirsty's planning. I would highly recommend her and going to Kenya. I am sure the other locations in Africa where she sends clients are just as stunning.

Kirsty was outstanding to work with and certainly set us up for the trip of our lifetime. When we reached out to her, she arranged a time for us to zoom so she could get to know us and hear our dreams for our trip. She listened carefully as she provided us a very basic framework to start and allowed us to have time to look into the itinerary and accommodations.

When we set up the second zoom she listened and made adjustments to our trip. Kirsty planned a trip that included a tree lodge, fabulous tents, gorgeous hotels, and cultural experiences throughout the trip. She provided all the details we would need, checklists, book suggestions, and other possibilities to consider. Once the trip was finalized, she was more than willing to meet with us to go over any questions/concerns we might have had. Our first safari and it surpassed even our wildest dreams. The people - Gwen, Theo, Gora, Oscar and the rest of the staff catered to our every need and desire.

The wildlife? We saw it all and then some. Gora knew when and where to go to find them. The rains hadn’t arrived yet so it was very dry. By the time we boarded the flight to Cape Town we had checked every box.

Kirsty, the CEO of Anywhere in Africa Safaris, is a thoughtful, masterful, hands-on trip planner. She worked with our group for nearly two years: helping us to decide where we should Safari, and offering us her well considered suggestions about how we should spend our first trip to Africa. Her suggestions were stellar and we had a life-changing trip! Amongst the highlights were: our stay at Giraffe Manor; two Safaris in East Kenya: one at the gorgeous and fabulously staffed Ol Donyo the other at Cottar's 1920; time at the Victoria Falls River Lodge (January was a great time to experience the Falls!), including a swim in Devil's Pool; and wonderful days in Cape Town, at The Silo, which was beautiful, well-located, high touch and fun! We loved our day in the Winelands! In addition to planning a perfect itinerary, Kirsty guided us though each step, ensuring that we had all of our documents, were well-packed, and that our travel was seamless. Her choices, guides, knowledge, and high touch from beginning enabled us to enjoy the trip of a lifetime!

My family and I were really excited to experience the safari that Kirsty Gordon had planned for us through Anywhere in Africa Safaris. She was extremely patient with us and paid attention to all of the details of our trip. Unfortunately, our safari was cancelled due to Covid, however Kirsty kept us informed throughout the process and lobbied hard to get our monies refunded. She responded promptly to all my calls and emails and came through for us exactly as she said she would. As time went on, I learned that many people who were in my situation were left high and dry by their travel agent. We were lucky to have been referred to Kirsty and Anywhere in Africa Safaris. We were scheduled to travel to South Africa and Botswana in mid-March just as Covid-19 lockdowns, restrictions and closures were beginning to happen, yet our flights and the borders to the countries to which we were traveling had not yet been canceled or closed (meaning our trip insurance would not cover the costs if we decided not to travel). Even still, we decided it would be prudent to travel (that turned out to be an understatement). Kirsty was able to reschedule EVER aspect of our travel. We did not lose a penny! We first learned of Kirsty Gordon through a contact on Trip Advisor. We were originally scheduled to leave in August 2019. We were going to Rwanda to see the gorillas and then onto the Serengeti, visiting multiple camps. Unfortunately, a health issue came up and we had to postpone, but Kirsty was unbelievably accommodating and held onto our plan until we could reschedule. It is now 2019 and we are ready to re-book for not only ourselves but also another couple who wanted to travel with us in 2020, with a slightly difference itinerary. I hope you get the gist of how complicated this was, however, Kirsty made it a seamless process and all of us were thrilled with our upcoming safari. Now, it is March 2020, and COVID-19 has arrived. Once, again we were forced to delay. We decided to re-book for 2021 and again, it was Kirsty’s knowledge and relationships with all the local vendors that proved invaluable. We simply moved the entire trip from 2020 to 2021. Her relationship and knowledge are second only to her kindness, professionalism and positive attitude. We highly recommend her services. When planning the trip of a lifetime, why would you ever work with anyone but the best!!!
